In Motion Technologies (IMT) is a research and development company specialising in the design of axial flux electric motors and electronic controllers. These motors can be used in a diverse range of applications including electric vehicles, air conditioners, white goods, garage doors and heating and ventilation.

Our clients include motor manufacturers and OEMs. The team at IMT consist of engineers with specialist skills in designing electric motors and power electronic controllers. The facilities at IMT enable the company to build and test prototype electric motors and electronic controllers and trial these in specific applications. We continue to build our intellectual property portfolio through the filing of patents and design registrations. Commercialisation of IMT technology is through licensing arrangements or partnerships, usually to manufacturers or OEMs. Our axial flux electric motor was initially developed for use in the Northern Territory University (NTU) Solar Car, “Desert Rose”. The solar car motor is currently sold under license for use in solar powered cars, powering 11 of the top 15 cars in the 2001 World Solar Car Challenge. |
